Consumerism flowers us with countless solutions to the same problems around every turn. A simple, virtually instinctual decision ten years ago "where do you want to go out for dinner?" Might be the subject of much research and scrutiny today, we have access to all of this information before we commit to a decision why not use it? No reason really... go for it. But our minds are capable of so much more than reading yelp reviews and overthinking trivial decisions. Furthermore when you place so much emphasis on the decision prior to the experience, expectations are set for the restaurant, but more importantly your own decision making capabilities are on the line in front of your friends in the hands of chance; and a grumpy waiter. "God damn sorry guys did all the research and it sucked,..." of course the same could be said for varying first hand experiences at the same establishment. Anyways... why spend happy hour with your nose in your phone comparing yelp reviews. Use your brain for something better. Take a chance, right or wrong; instinct is always satisfying.
